BetVIP Sportsbook Shuts Down

Here we go again, anothe bitcoin sportsbook shuts down unexpectedly before players can withdraw their bitcoin balance from their accounts.

According to BetVIP.com:

“All withdrawal requests will be honoured and paid. Please lodge your request to [email protected] with subject ‘Withdrawal Request’. Please lodge your withdrawal request before 28 of June 2015 and any payments will be authorised at the latest by 30 June 2015.”

Here is a screenshot the current statement on their shut down website

Here’s how this has played out:

June 13 – Players started to worry on June 13 when Betvip had a notice on their website that they were down for maintenance for 1 hour and this notice was up for over 12+ hours.

June 14 – A statement from BetVIP stated:

“Hi all

Apologies for the delay in response. The site has been taken down temporarily due to administrative reasons. All your bitcoins and bets are safe and will be returned to you if requested.

Regards
BetVIP”

June 15 – BetVIP.com updated their website with the message above (see screenshot) that they are suspending services and basically shutting down.  Players have 2 weeks to put in a withdraw request and payment will be authorized (why didn’t they use the word paid?) by 6/30/2015.  I do not like toe wording of this statement at all and things aren’t looking good.

We will update this thread as soon as there are any changes and when (if) payments start going out.  You may want to watch this bitcointalk thread for updates also.

Please let us know if you have any btc stuck on Betvip.com and if you actually get paid your account balance.

My prediction: no one will get paid.  Hope I’m wrong…
